Workshop
3 in Sweden
The workshop in Sweden
will take place in the province of Hälsingland. We will work on 4-5 different
summer farms (chalets) were all the houses are in log- construction. The
workshop is between 6-18th May. Arrival 5th May and departure 19th May.
There will be more information about the objects in the following weeks.

Since the opening
of this web-site 9 April 2001 there has been
15 982 visits. We think that is pretty good for a project web-site! We
take that as an indicationon on web-pages that are working. This week
the programe for the Swedish workshop 6-18th of May will be available
here.

Workshop
1 - the preparation meeting in Romania
The churches in Baica
and Rajâs in Salaj county will be good objects and places for the
workshop. The churches are situated only a few kilometres from each other,
about 25 km east from the city of Zalau, the "capitol city"
of the county.
Ana Bârca from the Romanian cultural ministry had made an interesting
programme for the three days 7-9 of May. The workshop will take place
1-15 July 2001. The accommodations will be solved in the two villages.
There will be lectures about the church and vernacular architecture in
the region.

The
Swedish government and The National Heritage Board
supports the training programme. According to the Swedish proposal "Wooden
Constructions in Pre-modern Society - Knowledge and Methods" both the
cultural ministry and the NHB has given Timmerdraget (NGO) the task to
execute the Swedish participation in the training programme. The Swedish
workshop will take place in the county of Gävleborg, the province of Hälsingland,
and will be supported by the County Administration.

Seminar
in Poland!
The seminar will take place between 10 - 14 October 2001 in Malopolska
Region, rich in wooden protected churches, above all for their polychromes
(XV - XIX centuries), some of them are included in the Word Heritage List
of UNESCO. This will be a prospective seminar concerning the integrated
conservation approaches for wooden architecture.

Lithuanias
Cultural ministry
have granted money for parts of the costs for their workshop. They want
the workshop held in the middle of september 2001. The restoration site
will be in the in Kleboniskis village, which is a part of Daugyvene’s
Cultural History Museum – Reservation. We will have a planning meeting
there before summer.
